african folklore dataset

The Princeton Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Egyptian Miracles of Mary (PEMM) project is looking for folklorists interested in conducting research with its dataset while also assisting with it. PEMM is a comprehensive resource for the 1,000+ miracle stories written about the Virgin Mary in Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Egypt, and preserved in Gəˁəz between 1300 and the present; more information at pemm.princeton.edu While the project is proceeding apace with identifying and cataloging stories as they appear in these parchment manuscripts, the project is in need of folklorists to assist with developing keywords. Some work on keywording has been done, but not by folklorists. Familiarity with such tools as the Aarne–Thompson–Uther Index would be welcome.
