Aging, Care, and Migration, , October 19, 2021 to October 20, 2021

On October 19-20, the Second Interdisciplinary Doctoral Symposium on Aging, Care, and Migration focusing on various dimensions of these topics during the lifecourse will take place virtually.

We are delighted to announce that on day 1 of the symposium (October 19), Prof. Sandra Torres (Uppsala University, Sweden), leading expert in the field of Social Gerontology and Migration Studies, will hold a workshop on “Managing Everyday Life as a Research-Focused Academic”.

After the workshop, there will be a keynote by Prof. Torres on “Caring democracy: the role that theoretically-astute understandings of ethnicity and race must play”, followed by a discussion.

On day 2 (October 20), the doctoral symposium will feature presentations by PhD students from various disciplines with a focus on aging, care and migration.

For more information on the event, including details on registration, the call for papers, and an overview of the program, please visit the symposium website.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to the symposium.

Warm greetings,
the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care Graz
