Proposals are invited for individual papers and roundtable panels for the 4th School of Languages Conference (SOLCON IV)  to be held online from November 3-5, 2021 at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Crises are by their very definition recognized in the huge impacts they make upon social relationships, economies, social stratification and transformation of cultural expression. These impacts are depicted by scholarly studies of change in all genres of human expression: crises catalyze new dimensions in language studies, new trends in representational, plastic, and performing arts, in transformations of literary stylistics and themes. Famously, crises have inspired radical changes in the theoretical focus and approach adopted within non-fictional literatures, especially in the social and natural sciences, as well as in academic philosophy. Crisis is reflected in the very constitution of living languages as reflected by specialists working on changes in morphology, semantics, and syntax. Historically, as well as currently, crises are always managed and subdued through oralature and folklore, the management of everyday activities, moments of spiritual transformation and religious movements reflected in the everyday lives of indigenous communitieis.

The conference which is themed "Literary, Linguistic and Cultural Studies in a time of Crises" seeks to bring together researchers, scholars, public speakers, and students to discuss the theme and related issues through theoretically-nuanced interdisciplinary papers.
