First International Conference on The Role of Religions in the Turkic Culture



CALL FOR PAPERS
The First International Conference on The Role of Religions in the Turkic Culture [RRTC] will be held on 9–11September, 2015 in Budapest, organized by the Turkological Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the University of Szeged in collaboration with the Oriental Department of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest.
We invite papers and posters related to religions and religious life among Turkic people in the following sections: Tengrism and Shamanism, Buddhism, Manicheism, Judaism, Orthodox, Latin Christianity and Nestorianism, Islam, Folk religions, Archaeology. Paper presentations and posters in the field of History, Cultural Anthropology, Linguistics, Folklore, Archaeology and Interdisciplinary Studies are welcome. The paper presentations will be limited to 20 minutes + 5 minutes discussion.
ABSTRACTS OF INDIVIDUAL PAPERS AND POSTERS
Abstracts should not be longer than 300 words (excluding examples) + list of at least 3 references. Abstracts will be double blind peer reviewed. The results of the evaluation and the comments of the reviewers will be sent to the applicant. Elected papers and posters will be announced by 10 April 2015.
Posters should aim at providing information about planned, or on-going projects, and/or results of recent researches. The time and  location of posters will be determined by the organizing committee.
Applicants are kindly requested to submit their abstracts until 16 January to the following e-mail address as attachment in .pdf format: rrtc.2015@gmail.com.
The official language of the conference is English.
Papers and posters presented at the conference are eligible for publication in the conference volume.
REGISTRATION
Registration should be made online on the conference website by filling out  the online registration form. The access will be given later.
The registration fee is 200 EUR which should be paid by 29 May.

It includes the conference badge, a folder, map, refreshments and an excursion. The Organizing Committee offers free registration to three young scholars (under 35 years). The free registration voucher will be given by application to the authors of the three best abstracts resp.
Manner of payment will be given later.
VENUE
The conference venue is in the Faculty Building of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest.

Conference dates
9-11 September 2015, closing session on the 11th of September in the afternoon.
