The Vernacular Architecture Forum’s 35th Annual Conference will convene in Chicago from June 3 – 7, 2015. We will go “Out of the Loop” to explore Chicago’s diverse communities in their social, cultural, and architectural dimensions.
The conference includes one day of academic papers, with a Call for Papers here.
Among our many tours will be journeys to the sprawling industrial Calumet region, the ethnic crossroads of Devon Avenue, and the community building efforts of the Dorchester Project. Ourconference events will be held in unique vernacular spaces in Chicago.
