The Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Folklore Association [SEEFA], an ASEEES affiliate, issues an annual call for papers for the ASEEES Conference, to be held in Washington DC, 17-20 November 2016.
Participation in our panels does not require SEEFA membership. We welcome participation not only from folklorists, but also from specialists representing all fields of study, including literature, anthropology, and history.
For the 2016 convention, SEEFA will sponsor a roundtable “Folklore in Global Conversations” related to ASEEES’s 2016 theme of “Global Conversations.” If you would like to participate in the roundtable, by 5 February 2016, please send a short biography and a brief statement detailing issues that you would address and questions that you would pose.
SEEFA also hopes to organize at least two panels related to folklore. The ASEEES deadline for submission of panels is 15 February 2016. SEEFA will accept proposals until 5:00 CST on 5 February 2016.
SEEFA will notify recipients of acceptance by 10 February 2016.
If you would like to propose a paper for a SEEFA-sponsored panel, please:
- electronically send a title and a 250-word abstract of your proposed paper by February 10 to me, Adrienne Harris, Baylor University, at Adrienne_Harris@baylor.edu. (Adrienne_Harris(at)baylor.edu)—note the underscore between first and last names.
- update your ASEEES c.v. form (online at http://www.aseees.org/);
If you are willing to chair or to be a discussant for one of the panels, please also let me know by 5 February.
International scholars do not need to be a member of ASEEES to present at the annual conference.
