This is just a quick note to ask your students to consider the MA in Performance Studies at Texas A&M University. Our department has research strengths in ethnomusicology, American popular music, popular music studies, folklore studies, Africana studies, dance and ritual studies, religious studies, theatre history, media studies, and women’s studies. We offer competitive funding packages, close attention from leading performance studies scholars, and opportunities to incorporate performance into final MA thesis projects. Our students regularly attend disciplinary conferences, receive funding for fieldwork and archival research, and gain the skills and experience to prepare them for further graduate work or professional opportunities.
For full funding consideration for Fall 2016, students should apply by January 15, 2016. Graduate Assistantships, which include tuition, healthcare benefits, and a monthly stipend, are available for qualified students. Applications will be reviewed until February 15, 2015 or until all assistantships are filled. Information on the application process, courses, and the degree plan can be found at http://performancestudies.tamu.edu/masters-in-performance-studies/. Please feel free to contact Kirsten Pullen at 979-845-2899 or kpullen@tamu.edu if have any questions regarding our program. I look forward to hearing from you and your students.
Best regards,
Harris Berger
